Scientist’s “glue” a boon for lab grown organs: inexpensive material binds cel

New York NY --January 10, 2007 – Organizations pay up to $1 million a gram for the specialized proteins that bind cells together to make organs. Scientist Burt Ensley PhD of Matrix Design/DermaPlus is now offering a “glue” to the organ regeneration industry that will reinforce and bind cells for significantly less than the $1 million a gram that these proteins can cost on the open market.

“We have the perfect ‘glue’. The plan is to immediately reduce the exorbitant $1 million a gram price by offering Tropoelastin/Elastatropin and other matrix proteins on a case-by-case basis to qualified research groups. Our Tropoelastin/Elastatropin ‘glue’ is basically the same reliable scaffold material and connective matrix solution that we currently use in our DermaLastyl line of skin care products to help delay the onset of wrinkles. By entering into the outermost skin layers, cross-linking and binding with existing elastin and other skin matrix proteins to expand the flexible backbone of the skin. It should be a boon resolving the high cost of binding the organ regeneration cells. No longer will organ researchers have to pay so dearly for sophisticated synthesized human matrix proteins to maintain the integrity and shape of the organs they are building,” states Dr. Ensley.

About Matrix Design/DermaPlus
Matrix Design, Inc./DermaPlus, Inc. is a biotechnology company that designs and manufactures sophisticated, high performance biomaterials such as Tropoelastin-based Elastatropin for use in the cosmeceutical and personal care products. Based on human genetic sequences, these biomaterials can be customized to reflect the genetic makeup of human tissues, population groups or even single individuals. DermaLastyl-B, DermaLastyl-E, DermaLastyl-Bx Pro/Face, and DermaLastyl-Ex are the first genetically engineered products on the market that help restore elastin and elastic properties to the skin and around the eyes. Used properly, DermaLastyl could postpone the need for Botox or cosmetic surgery and possibly extends the life of previous cosmetic procedures. Keracyte-b is designed to stimulate and re-vitalize hair follicles so as to allow existing hair shafts to grow thicker and stronger.
